Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Located in northern Tanzania, Serengeti National Park spans 14,763 square kilometers, making it the country’s second-largest national park. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maa language word siringet, meaning “endless plains.” The park borders Kenya to the north, connecting seamlessly to the famed Masai Mara Reserve, and to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Singita Grumeti Reserve to the west. In 1981, Serengeti was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, further cementing its global significance.

The Serengeti is renowned for its extraordinary concentration of savanna-dwelling wildlife, including the awe-inspiring Great Migration, where approximately 1.5 million wildebeest, along with zebras and other species, traverse its vast plains.
